iDeSOx™
Ionada’s iDeSOx™ dry desulfurization technology removes 99% of all sulfur oxides from flue gas. iDeSOx™ provides a viable, sustainable and environmental solution to reduce harmful emissions.
Pollutants emitted from combustion are associated with human health and environmental risks. Acid deposition, or acid rain as it is commonly known, occurs when SOx reacts in the atmosphere with water, oxygen, and oxidants to form various acidic compounds that later fall to earth in the form of precipitation or dry deposition of acidic particles.
They contribute to the damage of trees at high elevations and in some regions lakes and streams may become so acidic that they cannot support aquatic life. In addition, acid deposition accelerates the decay of building materials and paints, including irreplaceable buildings, statues, and sculptures that are part of our collective cultural heritage. We all will benefit from reduced air emissions with an improved ecosystem and human health.
Ionada’s iDeSOx™ dry desulfurization technology removes 99% of all sulfur oxides from flue gas. Dry injection of sodium bicarbonate powder into flue gas and the resulting sodium sulfate powder byproduct are both non-hazardous, food safe, pH neutral, non-pollutants. Our iDeSOx™ systems are carbon neutral with lower total carbon emissions than wet scrubber exhaust gas cleaning systems. iDeSOx™ provides a viable, sustainable and environmental solution to reduce harmful emissions.

Sodium bicarbonate, commonly known as baking soda, is a chemical compound with the formula NaHCO3.
It is a salt composed of a sodium cation (Na+) and a bicarbonate anion (HCO3−). Sodium bicarbonate often appears as a fine powder and is used in the Food Industry, Pharma and Water Treatment.
The dry injection of sodium bicarbonate converts poisonous environmentally harmful sulfur oxides into harmless environmentally safe sodium sulfates.
2NaHCO3 + SO2 → Na2SO3 + 2CO2 + H2O
Na2SO3 + ½ O2 → Na2SO4
Sodium sulfate (also known as sodium sulphate or sulfate of soda) is the inorganic compound with formula Na2SO4 as well as several related hydrates.
All forms are white solids that are highly soluble in water. With an annual production of 6 million tons, it is a major commodity chemical product used in the Food Industry, Thermal Storage, and in Commodity Chemicals.
The MTC is the sodium bicarbonate storage, dosing, and control system. The Piping and Injector Assembly deliver and inject sodium bicarbonate from the MTC into the engine exhaust. The CEMS monitors the sulfur oxide levels
